Abstract:
Hockey is the National Game of India and has been played in India from ancient times. There was a golden era of Indian hockey when India ruled the game. On the International scenario, there were no competitors to contest the miraculous hands of Indian hockey players. These qualities of Indian hockey made India synonymous with the game. Unrivaled excellence and unique talent of Indian players became folklore. The contribution of Namdhari Hockey players in terms of their elevated performance and achievements at National/International level plays a very significant role in the promotion of the hockey game in the state of Haryana, Punjab and India in general. To find out what kind of contribution and achievements of Namdhari Hockey players to Indian hockey, the present study is taken into consideration for the research study.
